Now I’m in FOWA London

Thank you for your guys to help me to go to FOWA. I would like to say Thank you in Thai language. “เธ‚เธญเธšเธ„เธธเธ“เธ„เธฃเธฑเธš”

My plan in London changed because I cannot contact my friends and anyone who offer the place to me. So I’d to stay in Hostel. So cost rise again.

But anyway the first day of FOWA was great. Glad to came here.

Here picture of me and Kevin Rose.

I got UK Visa.

After go to the wrong place (British Embassy in Denmark). Actually I thought that I can apply UK visa in any British Embassy (my mistake, Lund and Copenhagen is very close so it’s cheaper than go to Stockholm). So I have to go to Stockholm and apply for UK Visa again.

Finally, a couple day after I submit my application. I got my passport back via normal mail and Yes! UK Visa too.

With all help from people at Carsonsystems (Mel and Ryan), all donors in Thailand and Andy and Artist too, included my IT podcast duocore.tv audiences and my friends in London who give me a place to stay.

Now my goal reduce from $1100 to $500. Please hurry and donate me more. ๐Ÿ˜€

By the way, I think I can made it before the Expo.

See you at FOWA London. ๐Ÿ˜€

FOWA Roadtrip in Copehagen, Denmark

Just came back from Denmark. After got lost and walk for 1.30 hr. I found the The Dubliner. I didn’t know they’d changed the pub until my friend SMS to ask her friend to check the website again (It was my false). The FOWA roadtrip was cool. I met many danish people. Not surprise, almost everyone use moo card (Damn I want that moo card too). They chat about everything (web apps business in Europe, Google, Mobile service, Internet, Speed, Beer, Software, Programming, Living, People etc).

Here picture of me and Ryan (and the pizza-box sign). Ryan not well and not have much of his voice because he have to drink 10 day in a rows (I couldn’t blame you on that :D). Hope you get well soon.

FOWA Roadtrip at Copenhagen?

I’ve plan to go to FOWA Roadtrip in Copenhagen, Denmark to join Ryan (co-founder of Carson Systems) who manage the FOWA Roadtrip. Maybe just a warming up before the FOWA Expo in London. I can say that I make one step closer to FOWA. (Just in case if I can not make it to get a donation goal.) ๐Ÿ˜€

lund-copehagen.jpg

Lund not far from Copenhagen. I can take a train and arrive Copenhagen within a hour. It’s cost 117 SEK ($17.5) for a single trip. But I brought a 20% discount card. So I pay only 93.6 SEK ($14). ๐Ÿ˜€

Travel Cost Lund <–> Copenhagen = $28

I’ll find my friend for a place to sleep. (Actually I know only one in Denmark.) ๐Ÿ™‚

See you in Apollo Brewery. The Dubliner.

Not only money. But you can help me by “blogging”.

If you can not help for the money. That’s ok. But you can also help me by just blogging, mention me in forum or commentย  somewhere (not spam of course) this blog like this one. That can bring more visitor to this site. And I hope more people can help me. ๐Ÿ˜€

Discount coupon for Future of web apps?

You may see in the episode 112 and 113 of diggnation. They mention about 10% “diggnation” coupon code for fowa. I try to use when I try to test the booking system. So sad it’s work only “Conference in a Box (FOWA)” not for conference Pass.

diggnation coupon

But maybe the CD presentations will be perfect for who cannot join the expo and don’t want to fly to FOWA.

Student Ticket?

Sure. Student ticket cheaper than normal ticket. But It’s sold out. So sad. In fowa blog they said only 50 tickets was giving away. I thought it should be at least 10% – 20% of total expo ticket. Maybe 100 or 200? Of course , student today will become someone big name in the future. ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s good if I can get in the waiting list. But don’t expect too much.

Help me to go to Future of web apps 07

One day, when I watch diggnation show. I heard they said they going to shoot live diggnation at Future of Web Apps 07 Expo in London. I have no idea about this Expo. So I browse to their website.

What? It’s cool. Unbelievable all those expert web guru will come and join to this expo. That’s very interesting. Because I really interesting in web business. I and my friends had startup weekly IT podcast show in Thai language or you can call it as diggnation in Thai language. Now we have 40+ episodes and have almost 2,000 audiences per episode. (not much but growing up). Anyway now I’m studying my master degree in Information System at Lund university in Sweden. So I have to find some cute and smart girl to replace me. Thanks I’ve found one.

Anyway I really want to join this FOWA expo to get more experience, more vision, more and more many thing which i can not find in my country. And I believe that the only way to have this kind of experience is fly to USA or Europe. But I needn’t fly to USA because they all fly to London and share their success story in this Expo. I shouldn’t meet this opportunity.

One main reason is I know most of success web business are in USA. But I never go to USA before. I don’t know where is the Silicon Valley, Palo Alto or Seattle. (I know we have a great application called “Google maps” but I mean physical stand in front of Google Campus. :)) I want to know what’s behind the success of their great idea or business. Maybe the social in there? The infrastructures? New graduate student from Top10 University? VC? etc. How can they establish web only a couple month and got a million users? I really want to know How can this happen? Maybe learning direct from the success is another way that I can understand those thing.

You know? It’s not easy for me to fly to UK and join this Expo or similar one from my home country. Because travel cost is expensive. (compare to average income)

Let’s say I’m in Thailand and want to go to UK.

1. Airfare Thailand <–> UK – $1,000

2. FOWA Expo 2 day ticket – $500

3. Living cost for 5 day 4 night (Hostel, food) – $300

4. Visa and other travel cost (train, bus) – $200

Total $2,000

The good news is London and Sweden not far from each other and they have low cost airlines. It’s a lot cheaper compare to fly directly from my country (Thailand).

Let’s say I’m in Sweden and want to go to UK.

1. Airfare Sweden <–> UK – $100!!

2. FOWA Expo 2 day ticket – $500

3. Living cost for 5 day 4 night (Hostel, food) – $300

4. Visa and other travel cost (train, bus) – $200

Total $1,100

If I’m in Thailand I can work and saving money for 5-6 month for $1,100. But the bad news is I just spend my whole saving money to get out from Thailand to study in Sweden. And I’m just arrive here for a couple week and pay a lot of money. (dormitory cost – I’ve to pay 6 month advance, living cost, food, book, air ticket, health insurance etc.).

Could you please donate some money to help me to go to Future of web apps 07 Expo? I only need

$1,100

for travel and expense as I mention above. I’ll post donor name on this blog. And I’ll blog every step of my travel from Sweden to London for you in this blog. (Of course the Expo too.)

And I’ll summarize the seminar in Thai language and share it in my blog. (Maybe in English too. But I wrote in English not as good as Thai) So Thai student or who interest in web application and web business can get the same information I get from FOWA. I hope this’ll help them to understand how to build the successful web apps or web business in the future. So one day I hope you can see some great web application from Thai people. ๐Ÿ˜€

You can donate money by click on the donation button on this blog sidebar or the bottom of this page.

Thank you
